I graduated from McMaster University with a music degree and then from Sheridan College with an ECE diploma. I taught music to young children for 5 years and chose to go back to school to become an ECE. I come from a family of educators. My mother worked in a Kindergarten classroom and I would often volunteer in her classroom. I have worked with various different age groups from infants to Kindergarten. After graduating I worked as a music teacher at an arts preschool and was director of the program.  I enjoy incorporating music and arts into the classroom and believe it to be quite beneficial for child development. It is truly rewarding working with children and seeing how far their learning develops.

Administrative Coordinator & Teacher

Kathy has a passion for working with children.  Her 27 years teaching children of all ages to learn to skate has allowed her to do what she loves.

She now brings her warm, caring and enthusiastic personality to the classroom every day.  From a comforting hug when needed, to high fives for a job well done, she makes every child feel welcome and loved at school.

Kathy looks forward each day to giving all children a happy and successful preschool experience.  We’re so lucky to have her!

Miss Maxine

Teacher

unnamedI graduated from the Early Childhood Education program in British Columbia 18 years ago. I worked in daycare and then managed a centre with preschool, daycare and before/after school care before starting my own family. My husband and I now have four amazing girls, they are 16, 12, 9 and 6 years old.

We moved from British Columbia to Ontario in 2014 and our youngest attended ABC Nursery School for 2 years and we loved her time there. When she started in elementary school and I was thinking about getting back to work, I thought of ABC. I love my days with all these little people who are growing and learning and being shaped by each moment.

To bring care and joy to their first experiences of school are so important. Some children are so comfortable, some take time. We strive to provide a comfortable place for them to be away from home and parents.
